in 1992 when she was just graduating from high school Amanda Bossard started her education in marine biology with Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage, Alaska. Bossard launched her career as a seafood commercial worker in 1999. She started working on the F/V Sunset an a65' halibut-schooner which was converted into a tender for salmon in the name of Murat Aritan who was employed as a commercial fisherman since 1993. Bossard has been engaged to Aritan she has joined teams to take over their respective industries. They support conservative, profitable management of sustainable seafood resources. Otolith is an independent wholesale distributor of seafood that was started in Philadelphia in 2007 by a now-mother of two kids, Bella age 3 and Andre aged 1. Her husband has a long experience in the industry of fish, which often keeps them apart for five months or more. It is during this time that they're focusing on their environmental and financial targets. Bossard together with Isabella and Andre (ages 12 and 10 respectively) are back each year, starting in July 2016 in Southeast Alaska for the summer harvest of wild salmon. For two months, Bossard and Isabella utilize hooks and lines to hunt for their desired salmon. Aritan will then sell their fish locally to processors.
